Makisa is a screenwriter-director whose work spans psychological thrillers, comedy and horror. She loves to pen high-concept tales of strong women confronting sweeping cultural forces.

Her projects include Blog Baby a techno-thriller currently in post production, set to premiere Summer 2026; Unfluence, a 60-minute corporate thriller currently in development; and The Spread a dark comedy about a new-age digital coven.

With a decade of narrative strategy experience at VICE, Hulu, ABC, TikTok, and The Atlantic, she brings a distinct voice sharpened by cultural insight. Her accolades include being named a winner of the Alfred P. Sloan Writing Fellowship through the Athena Film Festival, as well as her participation in the 2026 Sundance Cultural Impact Residency.
